Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOrganic pinot gris from Whispered Secret Vineyard in Keremeos is fermented in stainless steel barrels, tanks, and French oak puncheons. Like other Similkameen 2020s, it has a presence in the bottle that is almost unnerving. There is a complexity and layers of flavours you don’t normally associate with pinot gris. Texture, precision, power, and finesse. It is only a pinot gris, but what the heck? It is a good one. The finish is dry and crisp with a twist of lime pith. Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Keremeos' Whispered Secret Vineyard, on the south side of the Similkameen, this pinot gris was whole-cluster-pressed and fermented in a mix of stainless barrels, tanks, and French puncheons for over one month before giving the wine an additional three months ageing on lees before bottling. Fruit forward with white peach, pear, and white grapefruit, seasoned with desert sage and a light dusting of nutmeg on the finish. This pinot gris is from Whispered Secret Vineyard in Keremeos, and was whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel barrels and tanks as well as French oak puncheons. Like the winery's other 2020 releases to date, this shows exceptional purity of fruit, and was bottled after three months on its lees to retain bright, youthful fruit with white peach skin and orchard blossom aromatics. But it's just as much about texture as it is fruit, with a pithy, precise palate that shows noticeable dry extract.
