The aromas are cleaner than last year with more precision and less oak leaving a red-fruited nose dotted with smoky bacon, a touch of rubber, fresh raspberries, and even a hint of violets. The attack is dry with more peppery red fruit and bright acidity, suggesting this would be well served with grilled sausages or a pork roast.
