Quinta do Vallado Rosé 2019

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalOne of the legendary Douro Boys, the historic (even by Douro standards) Quinta do Vallado was originally established in 1716, and became part of the Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira empire in 1818. The quinta is spread across both banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River, and near the town of Peso da Régua, bordering both the Baixo and Cima Corgo. Sixth generation descendants and cousins Francisco Ferreira and João Ferreira Álvares Ribeiro are the owners. This touriga nacional rose comes from high altitude estate vines, and was fermented bica aberta (without skin contact) over one month, prior to resting for 3 months in stainless. Juicy and bright, with fresh strawberries, cherries, wild orange, and scents of scrubby herbs drawn across a silken, cushioned palate, freshened by lofted acidity and finishing with an alluring mineral lick.Tasted: 30 April 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
