Moraine Syrah 2018

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Dwight Sick honed his syrah talent in Okanagan Falls and brought it to his new home on the Naramata Bench. I love the power here, yet it is well-tempered by a floral undercurrent and ripe plummy, black fruit mixed with black pepper, earth, mushroom, licorice with a fresh stony finish. The tannin remains youthful and will require five years to disappear, but they are well matched to a rich piece of meat on the barbecue. Sick arrived just before crush began in 2018, so it will be fun to see where he takes this wine over the next few years.Tasted: 09 April 2021Tasted by: Prices:
