Dirty Laundry Vineyard Kay's Syrah 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Dirty Laundry Syrah is cofermented with 5 percent viognier adding a floral component and overall upping the complexity of the wine in some minds, though others think it a needless distraction. In this case, the syrah comes out of the South Okanagan, the viognier is grown in Summerland, and it is all aged for 18 months in French and American oak. It opens with aromatic violet with a peppery undertone. The palate is expansive, offering a lush texture of blackberry jam, cassis, smoked meat with a dash of milk chocolate and leather. It is a crowd pleasing, sweeter style that surprises with a refreshing ending. The winery suggests braised lamb shanks.Tasted: 23 April 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
