Township 7 Reserve 7 2018

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLike past vintages, the 2018 Reserve 7 is a merlot-dominant blend (50.5%) rounded out by cabernet sauvignon (32%), and cabernet franc (17.5%). The majority of the fruit is sourced from the estate Blue Terrace Vineyard, located along Tuc-el-Nuit Road just outside of the town of Oliver, which is strewn with river stones. This shows polished, lush black fruits, led by plum and blackberry, that's complemented by forward oak, after aging 12 months in a combination of French and American barriques and puncheons. Medium-full bodied, this is richly concentrated but there's not quite the fruit weight to carry the dense, firm tannins. This will benefit from another 4-5 years in bottle, but will be well worth revisiting.Tasted: 19 March 2021Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
