Road 13 Marsanne 2018

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe mix is 94/4.5/1.5 marsanne, roussanne, and viognier, opening with a leesy fruit salad, nutty, pie pastry scent, with tropical guava, pineapple, and honeyed pear dominating the palate. It’s a little less intense this year which is a good thing, including a drop in alcohol. The winery recommends pork, roast chicken, or turkey burgers. I like the idea of a cassoulet too. The 2018 Marsanne was hand harvested, and whole cluster pressed, fermented in French oak barrels (20% new) and left to age for five months in the same barrels. Regular lees stirring is employed to build richness before the final assemblage. It spends another month in the tank before bottling.Tasted: 06 March 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
