Niepoort Conciso 2015

Dão, Northern Portugal, PortugalConsiso comes off an old vine vineyard in Dão, with Baga, Jaen and other indigenous grapes from 80 to 100+ year old vines, rooted in sandy granitic soils at 600m. This was native fermented in lagares, with 50% whole bunch, before aging 20 months in old 2500L foudre. Sultry and perfumed plum, cherry, wild raspberry, dried thyme and rosemary, fragrant rockrose fill the long, finessed palate, lingering with that granitic buzz. Tannins are equally long and fine, worn some with age, and housing this to the finish.
