Campbell Kind Wines Italy Rosso 2017

Veneto, ItalyCampbell Kind Wines is a new project from Lifford Wine & Spirits founder Steven Campbell, built on his decades travelling the wine world and connections in this industry. These are carbon neutral wines selected and produced by his winemaker friends worldwide, packaged with the Kind Wine packaging, and line priced across Canada at a very attractive price. The aim is to overdeliver value for drinkable, well-crafted wines while making an environmentally responsible choice. In addition, this project has resulted in more than 90,000 trees being planted in Canada. This organic Rosso is made with the Speri family, from very young vine corvina, rondinella, oseleta and other native grapes. All the vineyards belong to the Speris, 5th generation growers in the Valpolicella Classico region, between 120-350m. The Speris were the first organic winery in the region and controlled the largest number of vines in the heartland. The vines used in this wine are too young to be classified as Classico, but it's made the same so that you can think of this as a baby Valpolicella Classico. It spent 18 months in large oak barrels before bottling. Light in hue and moderate in frame, this carries cherries, ample perfumed spice, tobacco along a snappy palate. Tannins are tightly sticky, and the finish is crisp, both welcoming partnering with red sauced pasta.Tasted: 18 March 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
