Gérard Bertrand Cigalus Rouge 2019

Sud de France, FranceA broad contribution of grapes is at the heart of Cigalus Rouge, a wine that shouts of the Languedoc. The blend mixes syrah, merlot, caladoc, cabernet franc, grenache, cabernet sauvignon, and carignan and it is all Demeter certified. The ageing occurs in new 225L French oak barrels for 12 months before the final blend and bottling. This wine gets better every year as Gerard and Co., and the vineyard find their connection to the terroir. Look for a storm of garrigue throughout the juicy black and red fruit, flecked with white pepper, curry, mint, and licorice. Its easy demeanour invites you to sip it now, but this will age with ease. Match this with Bejing duck or spaghetti Bolognese.Tasted: 15 February 2021Tasted by: Prices:
