Cantina di Terlano Lagrein 2018

Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyCantina Terlano (the Terlano Wine Growers’ Cooperative) was established way back in 1893 when 24 winemakers decided to form their own group to stand equal to the dominant large landowners. Wine growing in the region of Terlano, tucked into Italy's mountainous Alto Adige, goes back to pre-Roman times. The vineyards are planted in terraces of volcanic porphyry, laced with feldspar, quartz, and muscovite. This lagrein was destemmed and fermented in stainless before aging in large older barrels for 10 months. Potent with dusky purple floral perfume, black and morello cherry, wild wild dusky spices framed by long, grippy, wood-grained tannins. Lots of depth of flavour, colour, and intensity here for only 13.5 degrees.Tasted: 11 February 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
