La Closerie des Lys Les Fruitières Rosé 2016

Limoux, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceYes, I was just as surprised as you to see the 2016 of this Pays d'Oc rosé available. Especially as the last vintage available on this market was 2019. I suppose they found some extra stock somewhere, and have it on sale to encourage thinking outside of your Fresh Is Best mindset. This is certainly still drinking soundly, if not as fresh as before. Deeper in hue from time in bottle, this blends syrah, cinsault, grenache, and merlot from Limoux. The Château's vineyards are in the Pyrenean foothills, and from vines at 300-600m. Salted strawberries, mandarin orange, flows along the mellow palate, brightened with grapefruit pith and finishing in a gentle wash of mineral salts.Tasted: 21 January 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
