Van Westen Vineyards Violeta 2017

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaVioleta is a good example of why the Naramata Bench is a special place. To be able to grow a malbec here is impressive, and most years so is this wine. Not quite what 2016 is, 2017 opens with plenty of wild black fruits, plums and cherries, with a twist of tannin to keep it running long and dry on the palate. It’s more Cahors than Mendoza this year, but nothing a piece of grilled beef would not tame. Solid, and should peak in late 2023 -2024.Tasted: 14 December 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
