Taboadella 1255 Jaen Reserva Red 2018

Dão, Northern Portugal, PortugalTaboadella is an exciting new Dão project from the Amorim family (of cork domination). The family is no stranger to winemaking, however, owing Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo in the Douro, as well as the large Aldea de Cima estate in the Alentejo, where they have been planting vines over the past few years. From Dão's granitic soils and 550m elevation, this was destemmed, fermented, and aged in a split of new French and stainless, for 7 months. Shy on the nose, this grows with violets, wild blueberry, blackberry, wild rosemary. Tannins are fine but firm, and acidity is crunchy, finishing with a bitter cherry twist.Tasted: 16 December 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
