Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCarménère may be a rarity in the Okanagan, but this makes the case for more - especially on the Osooyos East Bench, where this is sourced. It shows nicely defined blueberry and blackberry, with a herbal, menthol lift that's true to the variety. The balance of freshness and ripe, intensely concentrated fruit is what makes this work so well. It's far from just a curiosity; it's worth seeking out. And the dense, fine-grained tannins in combination with the fruit weight suggest it's worth waiting on, too.
