Mac Forbes Gladysdale Chardonnay 2019

Yarra Valley, Victoria, AustraliaThis year marked the new Villages label from Mac Forbes, highlighting distinctly regional Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in the Yarra. Gladysdale sits at the southern end of the Yarra, in the valley running north-south down to Gippsland, and across grey brown clay soils. This was destemmed and crushed before pressing and native ferment and 10 months in older oak. Sleek and svelte with lemon pith, white grapefruit, and a fine bed of herbal lees streaming this taut white to a lengthy, saline finish. Reserved, and confident, very much in youth, this is drinking well now but has years ahead.Tasted: 24 December 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
