Phantom Creek Estates Petite Cuvée N° 2 2017

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPetite Cuvée comes with little information, but the name can be considered a clue. It's a smaller blend representing a section of barrels from across the estate that ultimately was not selected for the top Cuvée. It is much better than that and probably deserves a new name but let's not argue about semantics. The wine's core is an aromatic, savoury, south Okanagan red loaded with plummy fruit and with a sagebrush undercurrent. The oak and spice are spot on, and the wine's texture and density are off the charts good. As it lingers on the palate, dusty, chalky, mineral-dense soft tannins with a stony, savoury chorus pulls back the fruit and complexes everything. Just a baby, let this grow in the bottle or serve now with a T-bone steak.Tasted: 23 October 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
