Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, Central Coast, California, United StatesThe Santa Lucia Highlands, located within Monterey County, is the foggy, windy, cool home of this chardonnay made by 5th generation winemaker Charlie Wagner of Caymus fame. I can honestly say it's fresher, with better acidity, in 2018, which is good, but it remains buttery and intense with vanilla, baked apple, brown spicing that is more of a throwback style than new wave.
