Garbo Negre 2018

Montsant, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGarbo Negre involves three non-indigenous grapes: merlot, syrah, and cabernet sauvignon. Each is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged briefly (120 days) in third-year French and American oak barrels for a little polishing. The nose is an intense mix of dark fruits, with a touch of meatiness and dusty, stony undertones. The palate is full-flavoured, the fruit ripe black cherry and blueberry, but at less than 14 percent alcohol, it has a sense of balance and freshness. The tannins are firm but silky, and the finish medium-long. A terrific barbecue red or winter stew companion.Tasted: 28 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:
