Frind Estate Premier Cabernet Franc 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrind Estate Winery is a new lakefront winery facility and visitor centre on the historic Bennett family property in West Kelowna just south of Quails’ Gate. Owner Markus Frind purchased the property in 2017 and has been busy acquiring vineyard sites up and down the valley ever since. This franc is predominately fruit from Rock Pile Vineyard in Oliver. The style is mid-weight at 13 percent alcohol with soft tannins and intense bright red cherry and cassis dusted with sagebrush and cedar. You can drink this now or hold three to five years, given the fruit available to age here. A solid start for a new label. It is aged in French and American neutral oak barrels for only ten months, with a small portion going into new French cigar barrels. Vegetarians will like this with a mixed grill of fall vegetables; others will enjoy this with flatiron steak.Tasted: 17 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:
