Albino Rocca Dolcetto d'Alba 2019

Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyAlbino Rocca's Dolcetto d'Alba is drawn from a 40+ year old single vineyard in Barbaresco, with a mostly east to south-east exposure. At this age, the yields are self-limiting, offering high quality fruit in most years, and something special in a year like 2019. In some ways, the reputation of Dolcetta d'Alba does this wine little credit. The fruit is all stainless steel fermented and aged, releasing the purity of its fruit. The nose and attack are all about cherries and cranberry set against a floral background. Youthful, exuberant, and fun to drink, it works with a variety of classic northern Italian dishes, including anything with mushrooms and truffles, be it risotto or pasta or pizzas.Tasted: 24 October 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
