Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Stewart Family Reserve is the winery's flagship red. The fruit comes off the slopes of Mt. Boucherie, adjacent to the winery in West Kelowna. Each year only the finest blocks make it to the Reserve, that totals just under 14,000 bottles. There is a hint of smoky reduction in the nose, so be sure to give this some air once you crack the screwcap to allow its earthy, cedar cherry with a streak of spicy new oak to breakthrough. The attack is similar, with mineral, savoury, black raspberry with just enough acid pushing back across the length of the palate to keep it balanced. Just a baby but should be just fine as it unfolds. Likely best between 2023 and 2027. It's a perfect turkey wine, but will work with pork and mushrooms too.Tasted: 25 September 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
