Mirabel Estate Pinot Noir 2017

East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMirabel Vineyards is owned by Doug and Dawn Reimers, long time grape growers in southeast Kelowna. If the Reimer name sounds familiar, it because this vineyard has appeared on several famous BC labels, including Meyer and Foxtrot. The vineyard's name is Mirabel, and since the 2015 vintage, the Reimers have taken full control of their fruit to sell it under the Mirabel Vineyards label. The site is moderately steep with a cool, northwesterly aspect, and the soil a mix of alluvial and windblown silt over gravel. The vineyard is planted with a mix of French Pommard and Dijon clones farmed sustainably. The style is reserved, with spicy, rooty, earthy flavours and a modicum of black cherry and brambleberry. More Oregon than California, it is perfectly suited to mushroom, salmon, or duck dishes. Drink or hold through 2023.Tasted: 04 September 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
