Mayhem Gewurztraminer 2019
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA joint project from siblings Terry Meyer Stone (of Anarchist Mountain Vineyards), and JAK Meyer (of Meyer Family Vineyards), this fruit comes off of Cellarsbend Vineyard, in Naramata. This was whole bunch fermented in stainless (21% into neutral oak) for three weeks, after which almost all was moved into oak to rest on lees for 8 months. Lovely friendly Gew, with apricot, peach, lychee and orange on a silken, medium bodied palate. Sugars are thankfully help to a slight 1.43 g/l RS, just enough of a bump to smooth out edges, but leaving this dry and frisky enough to meet with food.
