Langmeil Steadfast Shiraz Cabernet 2017

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaSteadfast is 54/46 shiraz/cabernet sauvignon matured in seasoned American and French oak for six months. It’s all Barossa and multi-regional with fruit from Dorrien, Light Pass, and Eden Valley. Interestingly, the Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in Barossa’s culture of farming, food, wine, and community for six generations. 2017 marked a return to a more normal harvest with perfect rain additions, few if any heat spikes, and a much later ripening, thanks to cooler temperature. The wine is medium dark in colour and awash in ripe juicy red and black fruits, flecked with leafy savoury notes. The finish is a sweet and sour affair with soft tannins. Best served with smoky barbecue ribs.Tasted: 25 September 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
