Domaine Richard Rottiers Beaujolais Villages La Sambinerie 2018

Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceRichard took over five hectares of vineyard near Moulin-a-Vent in 2007, with vines all between 40 and 80 years old and planted on pink granite and manganese laced soils. He converted everything to organics to 2012. After 7-9 days of semi-carbonic maceration in concrete tanks, this aged in wooden vats and barrels during 4 to 6 months. This carries the soils' characteristic violet and iris glint, poking through dusky blueberry, and juicy plum. Tannins are a bit stemy, though providing a welcome structural firmness through the clipped finish. Partner with grilled duck salad, or juicy mushroom or beef burgers. #GoGamayGo.Tasted: 17 August 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
