CedarCreek Platinum Clone 777 Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year CedarCreek released three single clone Home Block Pinot Noirs, all from Dijon clones planted on their estate silty loams. All were fermented and aged similarly, for an ultimate geek tasting experience. This clone 777 was native fermented in stainless before 14 months in French barrels and puncheons. Herbal throughout, with damp moss, autumnal forest berries, fleshy dark cherries, wild mushrooms, and brooding baking spices filing a fuller, plumper core. Tannins are plush, supporting the sunripened weight, to a sarsaparilla spiced finish. Acidity is perfectly pitched to leave this bigger red feeling fresh, and ready to handle bigger flavours like pheasant, goose, roasted root veg now. Would lay down for a bit for more integration.Tasted: 22 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
