CedarCreek Platinum Clone 667 Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCedarCreek’s pinot noir clonal set allows armchair winemakers to take an in-depth look at the palette of pinot noir. Each clone brings its own character, with clone 667 best known for its darker fruit profile and more tannic structure. And this certainly tastes true to that archetype. This is not a shy pinot; the fruit has an elevated ripeness and density to it, with the body to match, but the palate still maintains a nice freshness. It does this despite being a bit blocky. The tannins are firm and grainy at this point and it probably needs at least another two years to settle in bottle and allow the oak to further integrate. Winemakers often blend clones because they each bring something unique and complementary to the glass. Now it’s your turn to decide.Tasted: 14 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
