Lingua Franca Avni Pinot Noir 2017

Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesThe majority of this wine comes from their Eola-Amity estate, with the remainder coming from nearby vineyards in the AVA. It is a mix of Dijon and Pommard clones, 25% whole cluster, all native ferment, and foot trodden in stainless. Post-ferment, this ages in a combination of 22% new and 80% old French oak barriques for 12 months, followed by four months in tank prior to bottling. Bright and juicy wild raspberry, strawberry, is kissed with anise and wild flowers, and brightened with a red currant acidity. Tannins are finely knit and long, streaming this charming wine to a saline, spiced finish. Pure and fresh, with a lovely elegance, even now in youth. One of Oregon's top top producers, to be sure.Tasted: 13 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
