Invinity Sparkling Wine House Blancs de Blancs 2018

Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Saanich Peninsula's relatively new Invinity Winery, a sparkling-only wine house on the old Starling Lane Vineyards site. This traditional method fizz (labeled Blancs de Blancs) blends pinot gris, ortega, and siegerrebe in stainless and neutral barrels, before moving to bottle and 10-14 months on lees. Classical music was played to the vines, and wines throughout. Unfortunately, this wine is somewhat discordant, opening with a whack of sulphur, which moves into wilted florals, sharp and acerbic orchard fruit and a bitter pithy finish. A promising story and one I'd love to follow in the future.Tasted: 10 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
