Diamante White 2018
Rioja, SpainBodegas Franco-Españolas was founded in 1890 as a partnership between France and Spain, driven by the wine blight, phylloxera that had wiped out most of the vineyards France. Diamante was the first wine released by the winery, pioneering a slightly sweet style. Today it is the number one selling Spanish white wine around the world. The blend is 90/10 viura/malvasia. The colour is light yellow, the nose perfumed with notes of sweet yellow fruits and flowers. They stop the fermentation before it goes completely dry, leaving a dose of unfermented grape sugar to sweeten the mid-palate and finish.
