Mt. Boucherie Summit 2017

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2017 Summit is a proprietary red blend of the best vineyard blocks in the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys, and the best barrels of that, as selected by winemaker Jeff Hundermark. The yield is a low three tonnes per acre or less. All the fruit is handpicked and hand-sorted, and the final blend worked out to be 43/28/20/7/2 merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, and malbec. The nose opens with lifted and ripe baked black fruit reminiscent of black cherries and black currants. On the palate, the power, spice, and heat continue with rich black fruit, intense spice, and sweet oak. It is a blockbuster at this point and will need some time in bottle to settle in and behave itself. If you like your reds big and boisterous, this is it. We suggest at least five years of cellaring before you get too serious about drinking this version of The Summit.Tasted: 15 June 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
