Bride Valley Dorset Crémant NV

EnglandFrom Steven Spurrier's home estate in Dorset, in the south west of England, this is a blend of 55% chardonnay, plus pinot noir, and pinot meunier from the 2015 and 2016 vintage, dosed with 9 g/L. This is their first NV wine, with only 15000 bottles made, and not intended for the export markets. A typical very cool climate 11.5 degrees, this bright, tight sparkler rings with green apple acidity, swirled with white peach, lemon custard, some creamed corn, and light pastry on the palate. The mousse is slightly softer in the palate than most, which is why Spurrier called this wine Crémant (from the French crémeux = creamy). £30 at winery.Tasted: 29 June 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
