Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2016

Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesA blend of 88/6/6 cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc from Vennes, Jimtown, and Peline Vineyards in Alexander Valley. It is a brooding cabernet with black fruits that are bursting with ripeness along with liberal use of oak (24 months in French oak, 20% new), giving this lots of sweet spices and vanilla. Medium-full bodied, this is broad and rich, packing dense fruit with suave, fine-grained tannins that show deft extraction. It’s a bold, polished style to be sure, but without being over-extracted or overripe, maintaining a vibrant varietal character that is true to Alexander Valley. Well done, and good value at this price. Only 363 cases produced.Tasted: 18 June 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
