Argiolas Carda Nera Carignano del Sulcis 2017

Sardinia, ItalyCarginano Del Sulcis was made a DOC in 1977 for red or rosés made from the carignano (carignan) grape. Sulcis is a coastal zone in southern Sardinia, and includes the island of Sant'Antioco. This comes from the winery's dry farmed vineyards 500m from the sea, and on a mix of soil, sand, and clay soils. Deep with stony plum, thorny raspberry, ripe blackberry, this is seasoned with scrubby herbs, and finishing with mustard seed spicing. Tannins are soft and lightly sticky, making this youthful, wild, medium bodied red apt for drinking now.Tasted: 15 June 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
