Turon Artist Series Pinot Noir 2019

Lenswood, Adelaide Hills, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide, South Australia, AustraliaYoung winemaker Turon White is one of the leaders of New Wave Adelaide Hills, and wines like this, just a couple vintages in, show why. Pouring a slightly hazy hue, this Lenswood pinot noir is a mix of 4 clones, was 30% whole bunch and native fermented, before 9 months in French oak (10% new). The whole bunch proportion is noticeable, with a branchy, earthy, herbal, sapid note shading wild raspberry, rhubarb, and wild cherry, with crunchy acidity brightening a youthful, silken palate. Tannins are slight and sticky, housing this medium bodied wine to an amply peppery and saline studded finish. Youthful and naturalist, and best taken with a slight chill, as intended. For the Artist Labels, Turon provided artist Kellie Em with the tasting notes of each wine. She then designed the artwork, providing her visual metaphor for the personality of each wine.Tasted: 21 May 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
