Synchromesh Cachola Family Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2018
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaUnfortunately, this is the last vintage for Cachola, as the vineyard has been sucked up by Peller. From Cachola Family Vineyards' west facing slopes, just north of Oliver, this cabernet franc is rooted into the site's gravelled clay soils. Pouring with a slight haze, reflective of its low intervention vinification, Cachola once again flows with subtle florality, dark earth, sapid plum, wild raspberry, thorns, sliding along a silken palate, framed with long, smoked stone, grippy tannins. Showing the earthen greener face of cab franc (clone 214), this will appeal to those who smartly seek out Loire franc.
