De Martino Gallardía Cinsault Rosé 2018

Itata Valley, ChileNow well into its fourth generation with brothers Marco Antonio and Sebastián De Martino, De Martino was founded in 1934. Gallardía is a tribute to Itata's coastal vineyards, and also the home of Chilean viticulture, with vines dating back to 1551. This comes from dry farmed 35 year old own rooted cinsault bush vines in Guarilihue's gentle granite slopes, 22km from the coast. This was native fermented, and done by maceration, entirely in stainless, hence the very, very pale hue. Fine strawberry, subtle spice, wild red currant is tightened with pink grapefruit acidity and lined with a cloud of lees. Refreshing when well chilled, and gastronomic when opened in the glass.Tasted: 11 May 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
