Barone di Valforte Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2018

Abruzzo, ItalyThis is a dependable go-to every year and the 2018 vintage is no different. It's everything you want in montepulciano: juicy black fruits that have a wild, savoury edge and a subtle floral lift. It's not overly complex, but it has a lovely purity. The tannins are not so overbearing that you couldn’t enjoy it on its own with a light chill. As with so many Italian reds, this will thrive at the dinner table. Good value.Tasted: 24 May 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
