Vérité La Joie 2016

Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe harvest took place over two weeks and across four appellations, beginning September 6 in Chalk Hill and ending on September 21 in Alexander Valley, Bennett, and Knights Valley. This year it is a mix of 84/11/5 cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. As intense as it presents on the nose, with red plums and bright pomegranate laced with savoury herbs and dried cloves, there is a subtlety of texture at Vérité, as demanded by winemakers Pierre and Hélène Seillan. The palate is awash in floral, mineral, deep red and black fruits, and dense sweet tannins, balanced by a complex, savoury undercut. Just a baby and a wine that will live for decades.Tasted: 11 April 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
