California, United StatesSea Sun is a mix of California chardonnay grown in Santa Barbara, Monterey, and Solano Counties. The regions span several hundred miles and feature subtle differences in soil and temperatures used to build the style of this wine. Caymus usually means big and rich, but they have curbed their penchant for richness and oak with this wine, and look to have held the overt ripeness brought about by the California sun in check. The nose is a mix of honey, mango, pineapple, vanilla, and sweet lemon, and they spill across a creamy palate. There is light but important vibrancy in the back end that keeps it fresh enough to entice.
