Sartori Valpolicella Superiore 2016
Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyThis limited edition Valpo Superiore was released for the winery's 120th anniversary, and comes from a single clay-limestone vineyard at 260m. The blend of 50% Corvina Veronese, 35% Corvinone, 10% Croatina, and 5% Rondinella was fermented in stainless, and then racked in to oak casks for 18 months prior to the barrel selection blending. Round and plump with concentrated black cherry, dark plum, anise, and leather, on a well-worn palate, seasoned with dried savoury herbs. Tannins are supple, and the finish spiced.
