Mission Hill Reserve Pinot Gris 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMission Hill continues to tweak their Reserve lineup and, for some reason don't get a lot of love for the effort they make to produce high-quality, affordable BC VQA wine, a combination in short supply across BC. This year 11 percent of this pinot gris is fermented in wood, and two percent of the wood used is new. It is just enough to add a layer of texture and length to the rest of the wine fermented crisp and clean in stainless steel. It's all estate fruit from the warm Black Sage Bench and the much cooler Naramata Ranch. The result is a lovely balanced wine with bright apples and peaches over a quiet but steady bed of lees. Pleasing and correct wit touch of style. Pasta, cheese, summer salads, sushi, fish tacos: they will all work here.Tasted: 08 April 2020Tasted by: Prices:
