Sicily, ItalyFrom Lipari Island, off the coast of Sicily, this blend of Malvasia delle Lipari and Carricante grows in deep, sandy, volcanic soils, trained in the free standing alberello system (little tree) at 350m. After destemming, the malvasia fermented in stainless, and the carricante in older oak, followed by batonnage for 6 months. This streams the sea, with a streak of salinity woven through a nimble palate, anchored with a slip of lees, but layered with wild Mediterranean herbs, subtle kelp, and meyer lemon pith.
