Synchromesh Ancestral Method Riesling 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is bottle 067 of Synchromesh Wines' inagural Ancestral Method release. I've tasted trials such as this up at the winery in the past; only a handful bottles were produced, all distributed to family, friends, trade, and wine club members. Alan's real pet nat program began in 2019, so keep an eye for that larger release. Never one to be afraid of sugar, or acid, this works to balance out both very well, much like his signature still rieslings. This was trialled with additional aging on lees at 26 months, and this bottle was disgorged in March 2019. Sugared pear, green apple, lime rind on a very sweet palate, quickly clasped off at the finish with a riff of spicing. A fun breakfast / brunch wine for your belgian waffles or strawberry shortcake perhaps? A project to watch.Tasted: 01 March 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
