Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalOne of the fantastical NiePOoRTland ports, along with identical twin Tawny Dee, and younger sibling White Rabbit. This youthful, accessible Ruby Port is from three old vine vineyards in the Cima Corgo (Vinha da Pisca, Vale do Pinhão and Ferrão), and a mix of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, and Tinta Roriz, amongst others. Predominantly foot trodden in lagares, this was aged in large wooden vats over an average of 3 years prior to bottling. Wild blueberry, blackberry jam, and sugared plums take over a quite sweet, plump palate, dusted with brown sugar, and finishing quickly with a spirited bite.
