Chateau La Dominique 2015

Saint Émilion, Libourne, Bordeaux, FranceFrom the stunning Chateau La Dominque in Saint-Émilion, this vintage is a blend of 85 percent merlot, 13 percent cabernet franc, and 2 percent cabernet sauvignon, aged for 16 months in barrel (60 percent new). This has a deep, inky colour that is still impenetrable at this point of its evolution. It shows dense, dark blackberry and black cherry, with chocolate, gravel, and cedar. The fruit has lovely definition, and is quite fresh, which was a challenge with some wines from the 2015 vintage. Medium-full bodied, the palate is round and mouth-filling with carefully managed tannins that are still firm and chewy on the finish. Give this some time to open up, either in a decanter or your cellar, as it’s still quite tight and youthful.Tasted: 11 January 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
