Fort Berens Cabernet Franc 2017

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaAlways a BC cabernet franc success, the 2017 vintage is handsome and presents a lovely cool climate silhouette of the grape. Scents of bay leaf, bitter cherry, and purple flowers grace the nose, and crisp flavours burst with juicy plum, tart raspberry and leafy green, conjuring up Loire weight, body and streamlined tannins. Nine months in American and French oak barrels remain unobtrusive and well-met by plenty of fruit. The tannins are middling and fine grained. Most of the cab franc comes from Fort Beren's Dry Creek vineyard in Lillooet, with a little pulled from Oliver. Very nicely done, easy to drink, and just as easily dressed up for a roast beef dinner.Tasted: 31 October 2019Tasted by: Prices:
