Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Platinum Riesling Icewine is all handpicked during the night, in this case on December 27, 2017, when the temperature was -10 C. Gently pressed over 36 hours, it is fermented in large oak vessels. The nose is a mix of the classic new shower curtain, with bright notes of tangerine, apricot, and white flowers before the sugar kicks in and enraptures the taster. Aged cheese, bacon and blue cheese, charcuterie, foie gras on crostini, it all works here. Chocolate would be equally at home with this wine.
