Casale del Giglio Albìola Rosato 2018

Lazio, ItalyCasale del Giglio was founded in 1967 by Dr. Berardino Santarelli, a native of the Appenine hill town of Amatrice. The estate lies between the towns of Aprilia and Latina in the Agro Pontino valley, 50 km south of Rome. Unlike other parts of the Latium region, or other regions of Italy, this territory was still uncharted in viticultural terms when Berardino Santarelli and his son Antonio launched their research project into the viability of viticulture here in 1985. This deeply hued rosé is a saignée blend of made from 85% syrah and 15% sangiovese. Ample roses and florals lead into a ripe, glycerol-lined palate of strawberry, raspberry, and rhubarb. A snappy spice keeps this tidy on the finish. Fuller bodied but fresh, this can handle rose-sauced pasta dishes or meat-centric salads.Tasted: 06 November 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
